Has your desk been completely taken over by stuff?  Do you feel anxious when you come in to your office in the morning and look at all of the papers lying on your desk?  Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us.  What you should think about doing though, is de-cluttering your desk.  Take a few minutes today and sort through all of the stuff you have lying around.  Most people leave papers out on their desk to remind themselves to get to the task at a later time (to “prevent” themselves from forgetting about it).  What ends up happening in most cases is, you place something else on top of that paper and the pile just keeps getting larger!  In the end you find yourself searching for longer than you need for something or worse, forgetting to complete the task all together.  Just like cleaning up your e-mail inbox, if you don’t need it, put it away!  Leaving a pile of papers on your desk can lead to anxiety and distraction from the work you are currently working on.  Try putting your papers in separate folders that are labeled and make a list so you can organize yourself and get more done in your work day.
