“We will rebuild. We’re going to come out of this stronger than before, politically stronger, economically stronger. The skyline will be made whole again.” – Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani proclaimed on the day of the attacks.

Many people were uncertain whether New York and the U.S. would be able to recover after such a monumental disaster struck on September 11, 2001.  More than 2,700 people were killed after al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked U.S. passenger jets and flew them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.  Nearly 10 years after the devastating attacks on Lower Manhattan, Osama bin Laden, the leader of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, was killed by elite American forces in May, 2011.  The formerly shattered cityscape has been revived by business, tourism and new construction such as One World Trade Center and The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center.  Construction on new skyscrapers – 2, 3, 4 and 5 World Trade Center is also in progress.  It looks as though Mr. Giuliani was right, we are rebuilding and we are stronger than before.

Please take a moment sometime this weekend to remember the victims and countless heroes of September 11, 2001.
