“It’s just my little way of saying Thank You to those who selflessly served our country and were willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for me, my family and millions of Americans.” – Scott Durham
Scott “Bull” Durham, Mid-Atlantic Marketing Rep at The Andover Companies, has never served in the military, but he has always had a deep appreciation and respect for the military and what they stand for. A little over a year ago, Durham started a service in which he sends specially engraved military multi-tool knives, paid for by donations, to honor active military personnel, veterans, fallen heroes and their families. These knives, as well as the handwritten letter Durham sends, are special mementos to show his appreciation for the selfless sacrifice these soldiers make. These knives can be passed down through generations to keep the stories of the soldier’s patriotism, valor and courage alive.
Since starting this venture in 2014, Durham has made close to 1,050 multi-tools. This year, he hopes to do 1,500. His ultimate goal is to make 25,000! Approximately 450 of the knives made last year went to Gold Star Families, covering 41 of our 50 states. Twelve of the knives made last year went to the “American Sniper,” Chris Kyle’s family members and best friend.
Although Durham does not charge for these engraved military multi-tools, he does accept donations. If you wish to place an order for a multi-tool, it is asked that you include the following information:
- Individual’s full name
- Last rank
- Branch and dates of service
- Any special instructions, such as medals, commendations, Vietnam Vet, etc.
- Delivery information

All donations can be made out to The Ad King (Durham’s tool vendor) or Paul’s Trophies who does the engraving for the multi-tools.
Orders and donations can be sent directly to Scott Durham, 146 Hopkins Ave., Haddonfield, N.J. 08033. Any questions can be directed to Durham at (609) 332-5030 or [email protected] .
