Black Friday will take place on November 28th and is considered to be one of the biggest shopping days of the year! It is a great time to snag incredible deals on gifts for the holiday season! However, if you’ve ever actually gone shopping on Black Friday you know it is also one of the most hectic and stressful shopping days of the year. We’ve compiled a list of tips to help you score the best bargains while also having a safe and less stressful Black Friday Shopping experience.
- Check out www.mysalespy.com! – This new website helps you find the best prices for things you want. Using their ‘Spy Button’, you can track what you’d like to buy from any online store. Items that you spy on will instantly be added to your account. You will then be notified when the items go on sale. This is the perfect tool for getting bargains this holiday season before you hit the stores on Black Friday!
- Swap out your traditional purse or wallet for a cross body bag for the day – place your cash, Identification Cards and credit cards in pockets that zip closed to protect against pickpockets or the possibility of loss.
- Make a list and stick to it – consider taking time before you head out to the stores to make a list of everyone you need to buy gifts for and what you’d like to get them. This will help you focus on where you need to go and what you need to get and cut down on the time actually spent in the stores. There are a few really helpful websites out there to help plan your day. One of those websites is TheBlackFriday.com.
- Set a spending limit – after making the list price out what you need to get so you can set yourself a realistic spending limit and have enough cash on you for the day.
- Get up early – The phrase, “The early bird catches the worm” applies in this instance. If there is a particular item you really want or need to get on Black Friday, you better get to the store as early as possible! Remember discounted items sell out fast on Black Friday so avoid sleeping in if you want to make the most of this bargain-filled shopping day!
- Try not to leave your shopping cart unattended – If you have something in your cart that you want, do not take your eyes off of it. It is not unheard of for people to snatch things when you’re not looking if they also really want it!
- Leave the kids at home(if that’s an option) – It’s a hectic day and bringing children along with you will not only slow you down, but you could run the risk of them getting hurt or kidnapped in the crowd. If you have to bring them along with you, make sure they know their home address (or write it down on a piece of paper and put their information in their pockets – Just In Case!).
- Use the available technology to your advantage – sign up for email alerts and download apps like fm – Black Friday Survival Guide which offers 4 great features like news updates for store specials, a store list where you can click on your favorite stores and search their Black Friday deals, a ‘category feature’ where you can click on the category you’re looking for an see the deals available and once you find a great deal, you can add them to your ‘shopping list’.
