You wake up late, spill coffee on your shirt because you’re rushing around and when you finally make it to work you realize you’ve missed the deadline on an important project you were supposed to submit. You’re most likely in a lousy mood at this point…
Not to worry, here are a few tips to turn your day around!
- Take a minute to walk outside and soak up the sun. Sunlight boosts the level of Vitamin D in your body which keeps serotonin high.
- Turn on the Radio. Listening to your favorite up-beat song will help take your mind off of the bad day you’ve been having.
- Focus on what’s going well in your life. Spend a few minutes reflecting on what accomplishments you’ve had over the past couple of days or weeks.
- Mark your calendar for an event you are looking forward to. It will help you get through those really tough days.
- Take a cat nap in your car during your lunch break. Much needed sleep can refresh you and get your mindset straight. All you need is 30 minutes (just don’t forget to set the alarm on your phone!).
- Watch a funny video or visit Explore.org – Service Puppy Live Cam – Holly’s Half Dozen (watching this always help me when I’m having a bad day).
- Eat healthy and drink a lot of water. Loading up on a huge carb-filled lunch will leave you feeling tired and guilty for the remainder of the day. Try eating a big salad and drinking ice-cold water for lunch to help you feel lighter and more energetic!
It might feel as though nothing will help brighten your day, but try one of these tips. You may be surprised how much better you feel almost instantaneously.
